South African electronics engineering company iKubu developed a safety tool for cyclists that used radar to detect vehicles approaching the cyclist from behind. The product was called ‘Backtracker’ and iKubu requested that Boost Collective to produce an informative video to launch and demonstrate the capability of the product.
Boost Collective opted to produce a story based video in response to the brief. The piece was filmed in and around the exquisite Stellenbosch surrounds and used as a marketing tool via a crowdsourcing campaign on Dragon Innovation.
The wonderful end to this story is that Backtracker launched so spectacularly, that international GPS specialist, Garmin, purchased it.
